Spring is such the perfect time of year for a Red Wing Park family photos! This sweet family has been with been with me for a few years now and we did this session before their big move across country. As always, their outfits are perfection! Gone are the days of “matchy matchy” outfits. Subtle patterns, unique textures and layers are the way to go!

Family sessions should always include traditional photos–that’s a given! However, I make sure we take lots of candid photos as well. Below I had mom and dad stand in the middle while the kids ran wild around them. It’s always a favorite for children because they can be silly! I used to be an elementary school teacher and just like students, kids need breaks. Children are always more willing to smile and sit still after they have had a chance to get some wiggles out! A good bribe doesn’t hurt either 😉

Red Wing Park family photos have so much to offer. From the unique Japanese garden to the ever-changing landscape, it’s the perfect place for updating your family pictures! Azaleas and various flowers bloom throughout the year here. There are also many winding pathways to explore together as a family. Be sure to check them out during the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival usually held in March or April of every year!

The Japanese garden gets gorgeous sunlight and adds variety to your pictures. There is plenty of room to get a variety of pictures and backdrops. The rocks are always a kid favorite!
