The Historic Cavalier Hotel & Beach Club has become our home away from home and I’m perfectly fine with that! I love seeing this gem of a venue shine in my hometown of Virginia Beach! Bring on ALL the Cavalier Resort Weddings!

Groom Prep at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel

Tyler got ready with his crew (including his parents) over at the Marriott Resort. The ocean views were the perfect backdrop for hanging out before heading over to the Cavalier. We had arranged for a golf cart to bring them over, but with it being such a short distance they decided to walk–which was so fun! Doesn’t Tyler look amazing in his white tux!?

First Look with Dad

I will never get tired of first looks with dads. There is nothing sweeter in my opinion! What’s even more special? Justina’s dad walked her down the aisle and then married them! You’ll see below! How cool is that? I don’t get to see that very often and it was incredibly special!

Bridal Party

With the exception of her MOH sister, Justina’s ladies wore the most beautiful Revelry satin dresses in a color called Rose Quartz! Dhalia Edwards Makeup and Darling and Dapper’s hair team created some show stopping looks. Pair that with Palette of Petals‘ gorgeous florals and the Cavalier’s beauty, it’s no wonder they shined bright!

Tyler’s groomsmen were so much fun! They looked so handsome in their tuxes and loafers! It was a perfect combo for the Cavalier! Tyler is a basketball coach so we had them lift him up like he had just won a big game! ha!

Sunken Garden Ceremony

Cocktail Hour

Cocktail Hour was on the Great Lawn Loggia overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Guests were servers hors d’oeuvres and drinks while they had the chance to listen to music and socialize. They were able to leave voice recordings on the adorable pink vintage photo for Tyler and Justina to listen to after the wedding. Before heading to the reception, guests grabbed their customized luggage tags that served as escort cards.

Romantic Couple Portraits

Justina and Tyler opted out of a First Look and we added in time after the ceremony and a few minutes during golden hour to capture just the two of them. A summer wedding at the Cavalier Hotel is perfect for this because the sun sets much later on in the evening. Check out a few of their portraits and see what I mean! I adore this sweet couple!!!

After the first dance and welcome speech, it was time to get the guests involved! DJ Rodney put on a song and we went from table to table to take a picture. I was surprised at how much fun it was! I wouldn’t mind doing this at every wedding because it assures that the couple gets a picture with every guest!!!

Private Last Dance

Justina and Tyler shared the sweetest private last dance before exiting the Crystal Ballroom. Their guests lined the stairs, with sparklers, as they ran towards a getaway golf cart!
