We kicked off this beautiful session at the iconic Cavalier Hotel, one of Virginia Beach’s most historic and breathtaking landmarks. With its grand white French doors, lush greenery, and classic architectural details, the Cavalier provided the most gorgeous backdrop for Alexa and Brian’s romantic portraits.
Alexa looked absolutely stunning in an off-the-shoulder white dress that perfectly complemented the hotel’s timeless aesthetic, while Brian looked sharp and polished in a light blue button-down and navy trousers. From the moment we started shooting, their easy smiles and natural connection made my job effortless.
The manicured gardens at the Cavalier are truly something special. Framed by a lush ivy-covered archway, Alexa and Brian shared a romantic dip kiss in front of the beautifully sculpted hedgerows and brick staircase. The structured garden design creates a natural frame that draws your eye straight to the couple, making for editorial-worthy portraits every single time.
Golden Hour at First Landing State Park
After wrapping up at the Cavalier, we headed over to First Landing State Park for the second half of Alexa and Brian’s session — and the fall foliage did not disappoint. The park was absolutely glowing with rich reds, burnt oranges, and golden yellows, creating the most stunning natural backdrop imaginable.
Alexa and Brian changed into cozy, coordinating neutrals — a cream off-the-shoulder sweater and tan quarter-zip pullover paired with jeans and boots — which looked absolutely perfect against the warm autumn tones. We wandered through the sandy trails, paused along the waterfront among the driftwood, and strolled hand-in-hand down a canopy of fall color. The way Brian looks at Alexa? Completely swoon-worthy.
