Daniel met Jessica, at their church’s singles ward, six long years ago. She was successfully finishing up the last two years of her dental hygiene degree in Richmond. She caught many of the single guys’ attention, including Daniel, for many reasons. In the words of Daniel, “She was committed to her faith, kind to everyone, fiercely loyal to her friends and family, and absolutely gorgeous!” He was smitten by her and tried to be around her as much as possible. Jessica then moved away for 2 long years!
Eventually, as fate would have it, she returned to Richmond where they had the chance to reconnect. Daniel was friends with Jessica’s sister and he was constantly looking for opportunities to interact with her. However, he was afraid of coming on too strong and didn’t want to scare her away. Can’t we all relate to that!?? So while he was playing it cool, he got a text from her asking if he wanted to go out for dinner. Daniel said “I was as excited as a 4 year old on Christmas morning!” From that first dinner date they were inseparable!
The night Daniel proposed, he took Jessica to a small french restaurant in the Oregon Hill Neighborhood of Richmond. Afterwards they took a walk across the newly constructed T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge, which spans across the James River! On the other side, on top of a look out, Daniel proposed with the Richmond skyline illuminating their view! Isn’t that romantic?
I met them for their Richmond engagement session at Maymont Park and we finished up on the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge because of it’s significance to them as a couple. I had the best time with these two and can’t wait for their Washington DC Temple wedding this winter!
