They met at James Madison University at a fraternity/sorority mixer. Kaitlin and John were introduced through mutual friends. They were inseparable the whole night! The following day they went up to the mountains together and the rest was history! They dated a few more years throughout college. John graduated from JMU a year earlier than Kaitlin. He began his career in another city while she finished school. Long distance means they would alternate visiting each other every weekend. Their four hour roundtrip drives and accompanying visits made their relationship that much stronger!
Once Kaitlin graduated from JMU, they moved in together. They soon after got their sweet dog, Dewey. You’ll see him all throughout the wedding because he’s THAT CUTE! They named him after Dewey Beach, in Delaware, because that is where they were before they were able to pick him up!
After living together for a few years, and with the help of Kaitlin’s mom, John surprised her with a romantic beach proposal with Dewey by his side!
When I first met them at their engagement session I knew it would be such an incredible wedding day! They married at The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek in Cape Charles, VA alongside 45 of their closest friends and family! Even with questionable weather, my vendor pal Holly of Just Dandy Events, was able to turn a few kinks from the original plan into the most amazing day!
I worked alongside my talented husband, Justin, of Gibby Visuals. Be sure to check out their highlight film at the bottom of the post to hear their heartfelt vows and see everything in action.
Also, a big thank you to the 5-star team of vendors that made this day possible! See the list at the bottom of the post!
