Adding South Carolina Temple wedding photography to my portfolio has been so much fun! I enjoy traveling there and photographing couples at this gorgeous temple!
It was an overcast day as I pulled up to the South Carolina Temple. It was peaceful and the grounds were beautiful. A few temple patrons were heading into the temple, but overall it was a calm and serene backdrop as I waited for Morgan and Brandon to show up for their first look. I love when weather provides different types of “looks” for a wedding. For example, the last time I was at the Columbia South Carolina Temple the sky was bright blue! I love the variety! Either way, I’ll take it!
The South Carolina Temple is one of the smaller temples built back in the late 90’s. I have grown to love these types of temples because they don’t attract the large crowds that the big temples normally do. They only take a limited amount of temple sealings per day and that ensures it is not too crowded. I also love the smaller temple grounds because they are filled with lush landscaping and unique flowers. My favorite are the palm trees! I love to take pictures of the landscaping and exterior temple details while the couple is inside getting married.
I love it when couples opt for a first look because it is such a special moment where just the two of them can be together. The anticipation of seeing each other for the first time coupled with the overall excitement of the day is pure magic! These two newlyweds are so sweet together! They were all smiles and I feel so lucky to have been there to capture it.
The anticipation……this was the moment right before Brandon turned around to see Morgan!
Get yourself a guy who looks at you the way Brandon looks at Morgan! Aren’t they the cutest?
Brandon and Morgan attended church in the same YSA (Young Single Adults) ward. She said she laid low, the first 9 months, while being there. They didn’t have a chance to meet each other until they both helped at the same service project. They both when to help with the Hurricane Florence cleanup in Wilmington, NC two weekends in a row. As luck would have it, they were paired up in the same group both weekends and spend hours together serving others.
From Morgan: “We hit it off immediately and he asked me out a few days later. We have been together ever since! Brandon proposed to me on May 17, 2019. I was surprised to come home from work to find him there with my apartment decorated romantically and dinner cooked where he then popped the question. It was intimate, and nothing big but it was perfect. Brandon knows I don’t like attention so doing it in private was perfect!”
Morgan and Brandon exited the front doors of the Columbia South Carolina temple and celebrated with their closest friends and family. They traveled from North Carolina (because the Raleigh North Carolina Temple is closed–but soon to be open again!) I love the temple exit because there is so much joy and excitement!
After the exit, we headed over to the side of the temple for some family portraits. They have the sweetest family friends. I love how supportive they are were to this amazing couple. Most of them drove from all over the South to celebrate with them on their special day! Although I took many family pictures, here are just a few!
Brandon has a twin! How cool is that? It almost threw me off for a minute during the exit–haha!
Morgan’s ring was so tiny! Probably the smallest I’ve ever seen! I believe it was a size 3! We had some good laughs about the “pinky diamond ring” haha!
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Davidson for giving me the honor of capturing your big day. You two were a dream to work with and I wish you both an eternity of love and happiness!
