Engagement sessions are my absolute favorite! I have such a blast getting to know my couples during this time. It’s a chance to get comfortable with each other and gives us the opportunity to talk about the wedding day.
The Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront was the perfect location for Amy and Joe’s wedding! They were surrounded by so many loving friends and family members.
They met at James Madison University at a fraternity/sorority mixer. Kaitlin and John were introduced through mutual friends. They were inseparable the whole night! The following day they went up to the mountains together and the rest was history! They dated a few more years throughout college. John graduated from JMU a year earlier than Kaitlin. He began his career in another city while she finished school. Long distance means they would alternate visiting each other every weekend. Their four hour roundtrip drives and accompanying visits made their relationship that much stronger!
Isn’t this family beautiful!? They are a blended family of 8! They were so much fun to work with and I loved their Carolina blue, navy and white color palette!
I had the best time with Joyce Anne and Mike at their First Landing State Park Engagement Session! I love engagement sessions because I get to know the couple and talk all about how they fell in love and what they like to do together.
You won’t want to miss hilarious moments and find out how Mike intercepted an arranged greek marriage. hahah!
Daniel met Jessica, at their church’s singles ward, six long years ago. She was successfully finishing up the last two years of her dental hygiene degree in Richmond. She caught many of the single guys’ attention, including Daniel, for many reasons. In the words of Daniel, “She was committed to her faith, kind to everyone, fiercely loyal to her friends and family, and absolutely gorgeous!”
Now that Martha and Joey are married, I can share her gorgeous Byrd Park Fall bridal session! (Be sure to check out their Gaie Lea Wedding HERE). Choosing a few images for this post was extremely difficult because she looked so stunning! I may or may not have delivered 300 final images. Yowza!
We’ve been waiting all year for Martha and Joey’s fall wedding at the beautiful Gaie Lea in Staunton, VA. I say “we” because I was photographing their wedding while my husband, Justin of Gibby Visuals, was filming it. We LOVE working together! It’s like an all-day date 😉 As parents of two young children its rare that we get to spend the entire day together! We will take it any way we can get it!
When Abby’s mother first reached out to me about photographing her daughter’s wedding we immediately had so many connections. I have known Abby’s grandparents for years and two of my past brides (Shelby and Kim) referred them to me. I loved seeing all the friendly faces at the Washington DC Temple and at the Chesapeake Noah’s Event Venue!
August weddings at the Washington DC Temple are usually scorching hot! For that reason, I met up with Tona and Doug for a hour before they needed to be at the temple for their sealing. That way it was cooler and the light was better. We were blessed with mid 70’s and a beautiful overcast sky. When there are clouds at the temple, the spires really “pop” and it creates the dreamiest light!
