Making the Most of a Rainy, Windy Beach Engagement Session Not every engagement session goes exactly as planned. Sometimes schedules are tight. Sometimes the clouds roll in. And sometimes, the wind has other ideas. But as this beautiful couple proved, a little imperfect weather is no match for real love. This beach engagement session in […]

Downtown Richmond is one of Virginia’s most stunning backdrops for photography. The historic brick buildings, cobblestone streets, and golden light make it truly magical. So, when this beautiful couple reached out for their anniversary session, I knew exactly where to take them. Why Downtown Richmond Is Perfect for Couples Photography First of all, Downtown Richmond […]

If you’re looking for the perfect combination of timeless elegance and natural beauty for your engagement photos, look no further than a Cavalier Hotel and First Landing engagement session in Virginia Beach. Alexa and Brian’s session is one I will be gushing over for a long time — these two are absolutely made for each […]

There are weddings, and then there are Cavalier Hotel weddings. Kelly and Bryson’s celebration was the kind of day that takes your breath away — from the first quiet moments of getting ready to the last dance in the Crystal Ballroom. Getting Ready: The Hospitality Suite Kelly began her morning in The Cavalier’s luxurious Hospitality […]

The LDS Philadelphia Temple shines bright in the City of Brotherly Love! I had the pleasure of photographing Simmandi and Kyle’s temple sealing on a VERY hot July day! The temps reached the mid 90s and their friends and family stuck it out for the happy couple!
The Washington DC LDS Temple closed for renovations on March 3, 2018. Since it was the last time it would be open for two years, it was a very busy day on temple grounds. I had the opportunity to photograph TWO weddings that day! I have never seen the parking lot as full as it was that day! It was a blustery cold day, but Steven and Janette brought their A game!
Every season at the Washington DC Temple brings new surprises! Andy and Julie’s “Black Friday” wedding, in November, boasted rich colored leaves that made for some pretty amazing photos!

I first met Diana and Rylan at her BROTHER’S WEDDING in August of 2017. Diana’s mother had an unfortunate fall during the beginning of family pictures and had to be rushed off to the hospital to get stitches on the bridge of her nose. We were all traumatized in the moment but after everything it formed a friendship that I am grateful for.

Heidi and Patrick were sealed in the Washington DC Temple on the most beautiful sunny day! I couldn’t believe how blue the sky was and how the perfectly placed clouds made it look like it was painted! The temple grounds were filled with exotic flowers and it was the perfect backdrop for such a sweet couple.

When Abby’s mother first reached out to me about photographing her daughter’s wedding we immediately had so many connections. I have known Abby’s grandparents for years and two of my past brides (Shelby and Kim) referred them to me. I loved seeing all the friendly faces at the Washington DC Temple and at the Chesapeake Noah’s Event Venue!
August weddings at the Washington DC Temple are usually scorching hot! For that reason, I met up with Tona and Doug for a hour before they needed to be at the temple for their sealing. That way it was cooler and the light was better. We were blessed with mid 70’s and a beautiful overcast sky. When there are clouds at the temple, the spires really “pop” and it creates the dreamiest light!

I spent a BEAUTIFUL spring day at the Washington DC Temple with Emily, Cristian and all of their closest family and friends. The temple was very busy on this day with weddings. We quickly did all of their family portraits near the front temple doors to allow extra time for Emily and Crisitian’s couple’s portraits. They will traveled one hour to Frederick, MD for their same day wedding reception. They had an intimate and small DIY reception at the The Tea Room at Gambrill State Park.
Kim and Stuart’s Washington D.C. LDS Temple post was so full of gorgeousness that I knew their reception would need its own space on my blog. Temple Wedding Fact: There are 155+ operating temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints throughout the world. Some regions have many within a short distance, while other areas require members to travel long distances to attend. The state of Virginia does not have a temple, so when members of the church are looking to get married (or sealed as they call it) they travel to The Washington D.C Temple in Kensington, MD. It is 3.5-4 hour drive from Virginia Beach depending on traffic. Once it even took me 8 hours to get home because I-95 was a parking lot–yikes!
I was so excited for this wedding! Not only was it at my favorite place, The Washington D.C. Temple, but I’m so crazy about this fun couple! I knew when I met Kim and Stuart that they were my kind of people! They were so fun at their engagement session and I knew their wedding would be just as awesome as they are! They were sealed as husband and wife on a Wednesday. We had the entire temple grounds to ourselves.
